Akshay Kumar's Surprise Cameo in Shahid Kapoor Starrer O’Romeo Movie?

Shahid Kapoor plays the lead in Vishal Bhardwaj's O'Romeo, which has been creating a lot of hype. Even though the movie's teaser has generated a lot of buzz, moviegoers are eager to see it, and the excitement is growing with each new development. Although Shahid Kapoor, Farida Jalal, Triptii Dimri, and Avinash Tiwary make up the ensemble cast of the film, there are rumours that Akshay Kumar may make an appearance.

Online rumours of a potential matchup between Akshay Kumar and Shahid have been circulating, despite the cast and gritty tone receiving widespread approval. The excitement and extensive discussion on social media started when IMDb placed Akshay Kumar's name in the cast of the movie as a "special appearance." Reports that suggested Akki would have taken over as the antagonist when Randeep Hooda left the movie a few days before the start of filming added to the conjecture. However, according to a source cited by HT, "Akshay is not a part of O'Romeo, in any role."

O’Romeo Movie Update:

According to Bollywood Hungama, Hussain Ustara's daughter has sent the producers a legal notice. Sanober, Hussain's daughter, stated in the notice that she feels her father is portrayed incorrectly in the Vishal Bhardwaj film. The source further revealed,  “The letter has been addressed to producer Sajid Nadiadwala of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and director Vishal Bhardwaj last week. It claims that O Romeo probably shows Hussain Ustara in a bad light, thereby impacting the family’s reputation. Hence, she has asked for Rs. 2 crores for the same. Along with the monetary demand, Sanober has also reportedly requested the makers to halt or cancel the film’s release until her concerns are addressed to her satisfaction."

Randeep Hooda reportedly left the project a few days prior to filming because of a family emergency. According to reports, Avinash Tiwary took over after him and would play the antagonist in O'Romeo. His casting has made the project even more intriguing. Vishal Bhardwaj and Sajid Nadiadwala collaborate for the first time on O'Romeo, which also brings Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor back together after Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon. The action thriller, which is scheduled for release on February 13, 2026, promises a powerful story of love, passion, and irreversible repercussions.
