As the Oh My God universe grows, a golden age pairing that fans have long yearned for is returning. Rani Mukerji has reportedly joined Akshay Kumar for the third instalment of the popular franchise, OMG 3, in a huge casting coup. The fact that this initiative is the first time these '90s icons would appear together on a large screen is even more unexpected.
According to a source cited by Pinkvilla, OMG 3 is being prepared as a high-stakes cinematic event rather than just another sequel. Without a doubt, this is one of the largest castings in recent memory. One of Akshay Kumar's most cherished franchises is Oh My God, and with Rani Mukerji's involvement, it will only grow. According to the insider, "her presence will add immense gravitas and freshness to the narrative."

The source added, “Director Amit Rai has cracked a story that is bigger, more relevant, and hard-hitting than the previous instalments. Akshay was clear that OMG 3 had to scale up in every aspect, from story, emotions, to performances, and Rani coming on board has made the film even bigger.”
Director Amit Rai, who guided OMG 2 to commercial success, will reunite with Akshay Kumar for the movie. OMG 3 is supposedly aiming to push the boundaries even farther, since the earlier movies addressed sex education and blind faith. The movie is presently under pre-production and is anticipated to begin production in the middle of 2026.
By fusing mainstream pleasure with incisive social satire, the Oh My God franchise has carved out a special place for itself in Hindi cinema. Paresh Rawal played an atheist who sues God after an earthquake damages his shop in the first movie that started it all, Oh My God. One of Akshay's most famous roles is still that of Lord Krishna. OMG 2 made a strong statement about the need for sex education in Indian classrooms more than ten years later. The film, which starred Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi and featured Akshay as Lord Shiva's messenger, was a huge success.
