Bollywood star Salman Khan received a notification from the Delhi High Court. The notification was given in response to a petition submitted by an AI voice-generation platform located in China. Within four weeks, the High Court has requested a response to the notice.
The case's next hearing is scheduled for February 27. The petition aims to overturn the High Court's temporary ruling defending Salman Khan's personality rights. The petition aims to reverse the December 11 interim order issued by the High Court.
The use of Salman Khan's voice and identity was banned by the High Court. The applicant is a Chinese-based AI voice-generation platform. The development of voice models is the platform's primary activity. Salman Khan petitioned the Delhi High Court to have his publicity and personality rights protected. On December 11, the Court mandated that social media companies reply to his petition within three days.
Salman Khan's New Legal Trouble?
Judge Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora said that if any defendants were discovered utilising Khan's name, images, or other personal characteristics to market commercial goods, she would personally issue stay orders. In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Court also instructed social media intermediaries to handle Khan's case as an official complaint.
