Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, "Dhadak 2" was released on Friday, August 1, 2025, and is being well praised for its daring take on social injustice and caste politics. Despite being a follow-up to the 2018 movie "Dhadak," filmmaker Shazia Iqbal has changed the plot. The film's compelling narrative and the performances of its main actors have been praised by viewers. Many commended the film for its honest portrayal of reality in addition to its ability to move viewers.
While Siddhant made a lasting impression as MC Sher in Gully Boy (2019), Triptii did so in movies like Bulbbul (2020) and Laila Majnu (2018). Audiences were clearly fascinated when it was revealed that the two would be reunited in Dhadak 2, a collegiate romance in which caste plays the antagonist. Well, their movie dethroned Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, when it hit theatres this Friday.
Dhadak 2 Movie Review on Social Media:
A fan rated the film by saying, “BOLD..BRAVE...BREATHTAKING – DHADAK 2, Some stories touch your Heart, Others Hit your Mind — #Dhadak2 does both...Caste isn't absent in cities, it just hides behind a moral mask - and this film rips that mask off with brutal honesty...” Another added, “Dhadak 2: Bold, emotional love story on caste divide. Siddhant & Triptii shine, climax hits hard. First half slow, music average, but brave & realistic take on forbidden romance. Worth a watch!”
A fan wrote, “#Dhadak2 hits you and how!! I can't really recall any recent movie which has been this effective in shedding light on a such a sensitive subject and showcase the brutality with such honesty. Amidst the Saiyaara craze, we've literally lost a movie that deserves way lot more!!! Plus #TriptiiDimri, in a genre like this where she excels, is the cherry on top. Her outburst scene and the pre climax portion is so well executed ,and its literally a blow to all her haters who've been spewing hate for her recent script choices. She's so good as Vidhi ❤️.”
Saiyaara, starring Ahaan and Aneet, is still the biggest hit at the box office. With Dhadak 2 as an example, it appears that the Mohit Suri romance has opened the door for more Bollywood love tales in the midst of the recent explosion in action films.
