Fact Check: Vicky Kaushal to Enter YRF Spy Universe?

If rumours are believed to be true, Vicky Kaushal will join Salman Khan as Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan, Hrithik Roshan as Kabir Dhaliwal, and Alia Bhatt as Alpha as the fifth actor in the Spy Universe series. According to a source, "Vicky is thrilled to be joining the franchise. He has already proven to be a strong actor in action-packed dramas; therefore, YRF thinks he would be ideal for a more youthful, daring spy movie. The goal is to breathe new life into the franchise without interfering with the Tiger-Pathaan-Kabir plotlines that are currently in place."

Following his performance in the popular film Chaavaa, Vicky Kaushal has gone viral on the internet due to rumours that he will be joining Yash Raj Films' spy world. According to reports, the Indian actor, who gained a lot of fame for playing Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the adventure-drama, is excited to join the franchise.

But according to a source close to the actor, revealed to PinkVilla, “Vicky Kaushal is not joining the spy universe. The production banner definitely has a plan to expand the spyverse with the inclusion of new actors playing different characters, but nothing is concrete with Vicky Kaushal as of now”.

The rumours are refuted in this report, which also highlights YRF's present focus on Alpha and War 2. On August 14, Ayan Mukerji's film War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, and Jr. NTR, is anticipated to be released in theatres. Shiv Rawaii's film Alpha, which stars Bobby Deol, Alia Bhatt, and Sharvari, is scheduled for release on Christmas 2025. In the meantime, the Raazi actor most recently appeared in Chaava, which came out on February 14, with Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna. For those who don't know, Kaushal, 37, is getting ready for Amar Kaushik's Mahavatar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War.
