Idly Kadai, Dhanush's latest film, is currently playing in theatres. Some like it, and those who do not. Dhanush didn't promote himself too much. On their own, he thought, people would enjoy the film. The good news is that you will soon be able to see it online if you would rather not attend a theatre. The streaming rights have been purchased by Netflix. After four weeks in theatres, Idly Kadai will be available on Netflix in November 2025.

Social media responses to Idly Kadai have been conflicting. A user commented, "Family drama develops slowly, with strong emotions, particularly in the Dhanush–Rajkiran sequences. As always, the chemistry between Dhanush and Nithya Menon is captivating. The characters played by Sathyaraj, Arun Vijay, and Shalini don't really connect with the viewers. @dhanushkraja is acting as usual, but Dhanush is the director. dull screenplay."

Adding further, "The character arcs of Dhanush and Arun Vijay, as well as the foreign setting, were excellent. The heart was affected by Nithya Menen's persona and the enjoyable events that surrounded it. Dhanush gave a superb performance in the poignant parts. The interval block and montage by GV Prakash were truly amazing."

Idly Kadai alternates between urban and country life before progressively exploring more profound feelings, according to one fan's post. Dhanush plays several parts in the movie. Actors like Prakash Raj, Sathyaraj, Nithya Menen, and Arun Vijay also play important roles alongside him. At the same time, Idly Kadai was made available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
