Following the Pahalgam incident, India took action against Pakistan by banning several of the most well-known Pakistani drama channels on YouTube, including ARY, Har Pal Geo, and Hum TV. Following the devastating Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government made the decision based on suggestions made by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Ministry of Home Affairs recommended that they be banned "for spreading communally sensitive content and misinformation against India," according to sources on Monday, April 28. Because of their poignant stories, likeable characters, and short episode lengths, Pakistani dramas, which have been gaining a sizable fan base in the nation, are a major source of entertainment for Indian families. Zindagi Gulzar Hai, which starred Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, ignited the YouTube frenzy for Pakistani dramas in 2016. Hits like Tere Bin, Mere Humsafar, and Humsafar fueled the trend.
Pakistani Drama Banned in India:
Government sources revealed, “On the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned the 16 Pakistani YouTube channels including Dawn News, Samaa TV, Ary News, Geo News for disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir."
Indian consumers continued to watch these plays on YouTube despite political unrest. Online fan pages and conversations are thriving due to the rise in popularity of actors like Hania Aamir, Yumna Zaidi, Wahaj Ali, and Mahira Khan across the border. The home page shows a government-issued prohibition notification, however, customers of select networks, such as Jio, can watch the videos even though Pakistani drama YouTube channels are prohibited throughout the nation.
Pakistan has said that all Indian flights will be subject to airspace restrictions. Travel advisories have been issued to passengers by several airlines, including IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet. The nation also made the decision to block the border between Attari and Wagah.
