Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas Starrer Varanasi Reveal New Release Date!

Varanasi, SS Rajamouli's upcoming movie, has a new release date. Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran play the main parts in the movie.

S.S. Rajamouli, the director of "RRR," has announced a global theatre release date for "Varanasi," making the Indian movie one among the main international releases of 2027. The Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, who won the Academy Award for best original song for "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR," and the action-adventure epic reunion. Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran lead the Telugu-language film.

The movie was originally supposed to hit theatres in January 2027. On April 7, 2027, it will be released in theatres. The movie won't conflict with Spirit, starring Sandeep Reddy Vanga and scheduled for release in March 2027. Prabhas and Triptii Dimri play the main parts. Prithviraj Sukumaran will play the antagonist Kumbha, Mahesh Babu will play Rudhra, while Priyanka Chopra will play Mandakini. At the lavish GlobeTrotter event in November of last year, which took place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, the movie's title was formally revealed.

A sneak peek into the movie was dropped in the teaser, which was also displayed on a large screen. It presented spectacular pictures spanning many places and periods -- Antarctica, Varanasi, Kenya, 512 CE, 2027 CE, and even the Threthayuga. Antarctica, Africa, and the namesake Indian city are just a few of the continents where the film's plot takes place across thousands of years. The movie's promotional materials describe it as being “in the vein of Indiana Jones and James Bond.”  Rudhra is portrayed by Mahesh Babu, Mandakini by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Kumbha, the primary adversary, by Sukumaran. First-look video from the project was released by Rajamouli in November.

Rajamouli’s “RRR” became a global phenomenon upon its 2022 release, gaining enormous critical praise and public enthusiasm that reached well beyond traditional Indian cinema markets, with the film’s Academy Awards success marking a milestone for Indian filmmaking in the international arena. It is the fifth-highest-grossing movie in Indian cinema history.
