This July, S.S. Rajamouli's much-awaited fantasy-action adventure SSMB29 will open in Tanzania's Serengeti. Recent rumours state that the film's crew, which includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and superstar Mahesh Babu, will begin a rigorous international shooting schedule in the third week of July.

The report revealed, "Inspired by Indiana Jones and African adventure classics, the film follows a rugged explorer who sets out on a high-stakes mission through uncharted terrain, battling nature, mystery, and a powerful enemy to uncover a long-lost secret that could change the world. Think ancient legends, wild landscapes, and edge-of-your-seat thrills."

Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra's Big Update:

The film's first significant action segment is being started in the stunning African landscapes by the renowned filmmakers, who are renowned for their grandeur and world-travelling vision. Known for its untamed splendour and breathtaking views, the Serengeti National Park is anticipated to serve as the setting for a number of the film's intense action scenes. The cast and crew will reportedly continue their high-budget foreign schedule in the area by travelling to South Africa after completing their production in Tanzania.

On a budget of $116 million, the Rajamouli-directed film was also described by the Tanzanian media outlet as one of India's "most ambitious cinematic spectacles." But according to a previous report by Pinkvilla, the epic-adventure is based on the ancient history of Kashi, which is now Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, India.

It's interesting to note that previous reports from Filmfare implied that the action scenes in the movie were originally conceived in Kenya. However, the team decided to move their shoot to more stable locations in East Africa after the proposal was abandoned due to the region's ongoing political unrest.

SSMB29, which is billed as a fantasy-action adventure with an Indian mythological theme, is Mahesh Babu's most ambitious project to date and his first collaboration with director S.S. Rajamouli. The film, which was directed by S.S. Rajamouli, was written by his father, the renowned Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote the scripts for Baahubali and RRR.
