The horror movie buffs are in for a big treat in 2026. There are some interesting and most awaited horror titles. They range from independent films like Obsession, which introduce up-and-coming directors, to well-known legacy brands like Scream and Insidious, which are making a comeback with new chapters.
Additionally, there's Zach Cregger's Resident Evil, a new spin on the video game series that has undergone innumerable adaptations. The films we don't anticipate are the ones most likely to make us scream the loudest, in terror and delight. 5. Scream 7:
Release Date: February 27
Neve Campbell, who missed Scream VI because of a pay disagreement, returns in the seventh installment of the Scream franchise as the last girl Sidney Prescott. Courteney Cox also makes a comeback, as do David Arquette and Matthew Lillard, the latter two of whom have already passed away in the series.

4. The Bride!:
Release Date: March 6
In her second directing project, a monster movie musical based on James Whale's 1935 novel The Bride of Frankenstein and set in Al Capone's Chicago, Maggie Gyllenhaal substitutes Mary Shelley for Elena Ferrante.

3. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come:
Release Date: March 20
In 2019's Ready or Not, Samara Weaving's character Grace is returning for another round after surviving the lethal game her husband's family played on their wedding night. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, and David Cronenberg are also featured in Searchlight Pictures' Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.

2. Hokum:
Release Date: May 1
Sam Raimi, who directed the first three films in the franchise, is producing the project and selected Vaniček to direct after seeing his 2023 debut, Infested. The film stars Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan and Luciane Buchanan.

1. Evil Dead Burn:
Release Date: July 24
The otherworldly horror film is the follow-up to Irish writer and director Damian McCarthy's 2024 feature debut, Oddity. Adam Scott plays the lead role of Ohm, a reclusive novelist who journeys to a lonely Irish inn to spread his parents' ashes and experiences unsettling visions in this Neon movie.
