Thus, Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, marks the actress's comeback to the Indian film business after a seven-year break. The actor discussed the project on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, stating that it has been in development for 14 months and that there are still six months remaining to shoot. "It has been nearly six or seven years since I worked on an Indian film. One of India's most remarkable and gifted filmmakers, SS Rajamouli, is behind this film, Varanasi," she stated. The White Tiger (2021), which was also released in English, is the actor's most recent Hindi-language film. The Sky Is Pink (2019) is her most recent pure Hindi feature.

Priyanka Chopra's devoted followers are ecstatic about her coming back to Indian cinema with Varanasi. Big names like Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran are filming the pan-Indian film on a massive scale. A sizable chunk of the movie still needs to be filmed, even if most of the actioner has already been shot.
In addition, the performer said she is "very excited about" the movie, which opens in theatres in April of next year. For venues that support the format, the movie was shot in IMAX. The performer also cleared up some misunderstandings regarding her filmography. She claimed that IMDb's statistics about the number of films she has acted in are inaccurate. "It can be sixty at times. It can be 80 at times," she remarked.
The actress talked about how excited she was to be a part of Varanasi, which became the buzz of the town after her poster went viral, on Jimmy Fallon's chat program. Regarding her comeback to Indian cinema, the actress revealed that it has been six or seven years since she last worked on an Indian film. She said, “He is one of India’s most amazingly talented directors, and it’s going to be an adventure. I am very excited about it.”
