According to Mid-Day, Shah Rukh Khan suffered a shoulder injury while filming an action scene for the action thriller King, which caused the producers to postpone the movie's production. According to the story, which cited an insider, the King team has put a halt to filming since the superstar needs a few weeks of recovery before he can appear on camera once more.

The publication was informed by an insider that Shah Rukh Khan needs time to recuperate and that the producers do not want to jeopardise his health in any way. As a result, the film's release will be delayed. Originally scheduled for release in 2026, it will now only be available in theatres in 2027. An insider revealed, "The team is now chalking out the plan for the next schedule. Earlier, King was being pegged as a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 offering. That is not possible now; it may get pushed by months to have an early 2027 release."
