Have you ever seen any scary Korean horror movies before? If not, you're going to have a crazy time. Generally speaking, Asian horror films are known for being frightful and unsettling. There are a few of these that are absolutely not for the timid! These are the top Korean horror films that are both thrilling and horrifying to watch on Netflix.
Your experience may differ because everyone has various terror triggers. Select the ones that seem like a good fit for you. However, keep in mind that you do so at your own risk. To put it mildly, some of these are really intense! Some of them are pure works of art. Some are intriguing despite their flaws. If you're serious about horror, you should spend time with all of them.
Best Korean Horror Movies on Netflix:
5. Unlocked:
This isn't your typical horror film. While some would classify it as a thriller, I categorise it as horror. The sole distinction is that this movie doesn't have any supernatural elements. The monster is not a demon, a zombie, or a ghost; it is a human.
4. Alive:
The movie centres on a young video blogger who, when a zombie apocalypse breaks out, finds himself stranded in his flat. He must now decide between fighting the zombies or going into isolation. Compared to its English-language equivalent, the movie did significantly better with critics and viewers when it was released in October 2020.
3. Metamorphosis:
The 2019 movie was one of the top ten most-watched films on Netflix. The film's concept, exorcism, is intriguing in and of itself. It depicts the tale of a family that is penetrated by a face-changing evil that puts one brother in peril while the other family members attempt to save him.
2. The Host:
The 2006 movie isn't your average monster movie, especially since it was directed by Parasite's award-winning director Bong Joon Ho. The movie is about a man's attempts to save his daughter after she is abducted by a monster.
1. Gonjam: Haunted Asylum:
The film, which was directed by Jung Bum-shik, centres on a web series team that goes to the institution in order to increase the number of views for a YouTube production. As they are possessed one by one, they soon discover that they are coping with the paranormal.
