Zubeen Garg Death Case: Assam Police Arrest Manager Siddhartha Sharma and Organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta

The manager of Zubeen Garg was arrested from a flat in Gurugram, while the organiser of the Singapore Fest was arrested upon his arrival at the Delhi airport.

After being arrested in Delhi, festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddhartha Sharma, the manager of the late singer-actor Zubeen Garg, were transported to Guwahati. The judge sentenced the two to 14 days of judicial custody under SIT after they were brought before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court here in the rain. Police claimed that Mahanta was hiding in Singapore and that lookout notices had already been sent to him and Sharma, telling them to appear at the CID office in Guwahati by October 6.

According to news agency PTI, Sharma was detained at an apartment in Gurugram, while Mahanta was detained upon his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi from Singapore. A senior police source told PTI that the two were taken to Guwahati early on Wednesday morning.

Zubeen Garg Death Case Big Update:

A 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Special DGP M P Gupta was established by the Assam government to look into the singer's death in Singapore on September 19 after she drowned in the water. Mahanta, Sharma, members of the Singapore Assam Association, and others who had travelled to Singapore for the festival were among the individuals who received notices from the SIT to come before it and provide statements.

The SIT has already questioned Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, Zubeen's drummer; Sandipon Garg, his brother and a police officer; Nishita Goswami, an actress; Amritprabha; and Sanjive Narain, the proprietor of a small television station, in relation to the case. They were all in Singapore when Zubeen died. According to Assam DGP Harmeet Singh, the investigation, which is being headed by the CID and SIT, is proceeding transparently as directed by the Assam chief minister.

On September 19, Zubeen Garg passed away in Singapore, where he was supposed to perform. According to a Singaporean hospital's death certificate, he drowned; however, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that a postmortem will provide more information about his demise.
