Pakistanis are furious with PTV for switching the live stream from India vs. Pakistan in the T20 World Cup to Germany vs. Curacao in the FIFA World Cup. At Edgbaston in Birmingham on Sunday, India defeated Pakistan by a commanding 64 runs to start their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. Smriti Mandhana’s elegant half-century and Richa Ghosh’s explosive bat finish set up a total that Pakistan never looked like chasing down.
According to reports, during Pakistan’s seemingly inevitable run chase, the country’s main cricket broadcaster allegedly changed its live coverage from the highly anticipated India-Pakistan Women’s T20 World Cup match to a FIFA World Cup 2026 match between Germany and Curacao. Fans were upset by the decision and took to social media to voice their displeasure. Since then, a video of Pakistani YouTuber Furqan Bhati responding to the alleged broadcast alteration has gone viral. Bhati questioned the broadcaster’s choice to distance itself from one of the world’s most significant cricket rivalries in the video.

In the video, Bhati said, “What’s going on? Pakistan versus India is being played there, and they’re showing a FIFA World Cup match. Germany is playing? Is Germany in Punjab? Is it in Sindh, Balochistan, or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa? Where exactly is Germany?”
After losing early wickets, India, batting first, scored 170 for 6 in their 20 overs. With 68 runs off 44 deliveries, Mandhana skilfully anchored the innings, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur made a crucial 36. Richa Ghosh hammered 34 runs off just 17 balls in the last two overs, producing 38 runs that were well out of Pakistan’s reach. Pakistan’s reply fell 64 runs short of the target after being knocked out for 106 in 17 overs. In what is regarded as the best bowling performance by any Indian woman in T20 international cricket, Deepti Sharma was the mastermind behind the collapse, taking five wickets for just ten runs in four overs.
