India and West Indies played an interesting three-match ODI series that saw the hosts win the series by 2-1. Players from both sides made merry as batters scored heaps of hundreds, while bowlers toiled hard on flat pitches. The focus was on the Indian team, who are prepping for the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
While the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Kuldeep Yadav performed to their best, there were a handful of Indian stars who failed to come good in the ODI series, and today we take a look at the three such players who failed to create an impact.

3. Naman Dhir
Naman Dhir made his India debut in ODIs during the West Indies series. He made 30 runs in the one innings he got to bat. Dhir was picked as the second spinner behind Kuldeep Yadav and was supposed to provide support to him. However, he managed only one wicket in three games, at an economy of 6.30. He failed to stop the flow of runs in the middle overs and couldn’t pick any wickets as well.
2. Gurnoor Brar
Gurnoor Brar played all three ODIs for India against the West Indies. Though he displayed good pace under testing conditions in the three ODIs, his performance and penetration with the ball were not up to the mark. He picked three wickets, giving away 220 runs in 3 ODIs, at an economy of 7.54. He even gave away 96 runs for two wickets in the second ODI. However, Brar has been backed for the sole reason of his pace and the fact that he bowls at 140 kph consistently, though he needs more refinement going forward.
1. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja got a chance to play an ODI for India for the first time since January this year. He managed to play two games, taking two wickets at an economy of 6.45. Jadeja only got the chance to play in the West Indies ODI series because Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are away for the Asian Games 2026. And Jadeja failed to make the chances count with the ball. He was also not at his athletic best in the field, and it seems that the age of 37 has caught up with Jadeja.
