India will be hosting the West Indies for three ODIs and five T20Is in September-October 2026. The West Indies had previously visited India for two tests this year and now will play a white-ball series.
The first T20I will be played in Lucknow on October 6; the second T20I will be played on October 9 in Ranchi, and the third T20I will be played on October 11 in Indore. The last two T20Is will be played on October 14 and October 17 in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, respectively.

3. Hardik Pandya
The second half of Hardik Pandya’s 2026 has not been very good for the all-rounder. The two-time T20 World Cup winner has been out of action since the IPL 2026, as he had suffered back spasms during the tournament. He was then prepping to join the Indian team for the Afghanistan ODIs but suffered a quadriceps injury and returned to CoE for rehab. He was to play in the India A series but has suffered a shin injury, and his return has been delayed further.
2. Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar’s absence from the Indian teams across formats has been bewildering. Patidar led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to two consecutive IPL wins. He led from the front, scoring 312 and 501 runs with a total of 7 half-centuries and a best score of 93*. He was decent in the recent first-class games and contributed well with the bat and in leadership as well. He deserves a chance in the Indian team for a decent term to prove himself.
1. Rinku Singh
Rinku Singh was left out of the Indian squad for the West Indies T20Is despite having a good outing in the Zimbabwe series. He was also excluded from the tours to Ireland and England. Just because he can’t bowl regularly, Rinku Singh, despite being the best finisher in T20s in India, is not getting chances in the Indian XI, as the team management has a penchant for all-rounders. Rinku Singh has 702 runs in 48 T20Is with 3 fifties with a strike rate of 156.34 and a best score of 69*.
