The Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) will square off in the ninth match of the current Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL) on Saturday, March 29, at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. With losses to Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings in their opening games, respectively, Gujarat and Mumbai had a dismal start to their IPL 2025 campaigns.
Punjab defeated the Shubman Gill-led team in their most recent home match. Despite valiant efforts from Jos Buttler (54 off 33) and Sai Sudharsan (74 off 41), GT lost by 11 runs as they chased a huge goal of 244. Mumbai, on the other hand, struggled against the Chennai Super Kings in their season opener. They struggled against CSK's bowling attack, which featured Noor Ahmad and Khaleel Ahmed, and only achieved 155/9 when they batted first at Chepauk.

In Ahmedabad, the Pacers have been dominant, despite the spinners being a little frugal. Since 2024, they have taken more than 67% of the IPL's wickets at this location. Additionally, they have taken wickets at a strike rate of 19.6 and an average of 31.3. The spinners' respective equivalent numbers are 37.1 and 24.1. Since IPL 2024, the average score for batting first has been 180, however, in order to feel comfortable, the team batting first will aim for a total above 200.
