IPL 2025: Injured Ruturaj Gaikwad Seen Playing Football During CSK Training Session

Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of the Chennai Super Kings, will not play in the Indian Premier League 2025 because of an elbow ailment. MS Dhoni will be heading the five-time champions in the current season in his place. Gaikwad had been a crucial member of the team as a dependable and steady hitter, therefore, this was a huge setback to CSK. On March 30, Gaikwad was struck by a short ball from Jofra Archer, a bowler for the Rajasthan Royals and England. 

Before the Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2025 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, ace cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad and his teammates practiced football drills, which sent social media into a frenzy. Notably, MS Dhoni regained the captain's hat after Gaikwad, the reliable CSK captain, was ruled out for the rest of the competition. Gaikwad was forced to miss the remainder of the season owing to an elbow injury he acquired early in the competition that has since progressed to a hairline fracture. The Maharashtra native's participation in warm-up exercises, despite his injuries, has angered social media users.

Recently, a video of him participating in team warm-ups went viral. Despite reports that the two-time IPL champion suffered a fracture, Gaikwad appeared totally recovered and relished playing with his colleagues, which piqued the interest of the fans. Online speculation was sparked by a group of supporters who also questioned the veracity of the injury announcement. 

In the last five games, Gaikwad has undoubtedly been the best batter, but he has frequently been disappointed by the middle order's poor performance and the top order's floundering, as CSK hasn't been able to chase anything over 180. Even if Rahul Tripathi has so far appeared completely out of place, CSK's only real choice right now is to get him back in the top three. One of CSK's more seasoned players, Deepak Hooda, can start in the center. Vansh Bedi, an unproven Delhi lad, could potentially be considered by CSK for some power-hitting.
