Before the Super Over match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), skipper Sanju Samson of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) was dissatisfied. Notably, in a thrilling match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 16, the Delhi Capitals defeated RR to record their sixth victory of the IPL 2025.
The captain of the Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, has gone viral. In a recent IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals, the top wicketkeeper-batter had to retire injured after hitting a scorching 31 off just 19 balls. Both sides were tied at 188 after the allotted 20 overs, and the Delhi Capitals won the match in the Super Over. In the Super Over, RR dispatched Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer, and Riyan Parag instead of the in-form Nitish Rana, who struck 51 off 28 balls.
Sanju Samson Rift Rumours:
I knew there was definitely a rift within the setup when there were absolutely no discussions or chat in the dugout before the super over.Everyone was standing quite in a circle in the dugout.Look at Sanju's hand signal in the first video,he is deliberately ignoring everyone. https://t.co/DfxmlwGgBG pic.twitter.com/688ji3MXrS

Is this the reason why their players never celebrate a wicket, especially those Hetmyer catches on the boundary 🧐?

Later, it was observed that Sairaj Bahutule and Rahul Dravid, the RR coaches, were discussing the playing combination with the other players. But skipper Samson, who was close to the huddle, stayed out of the discussion. A player was heard hailing Samson from behind in a video that went viral on social media, but the Royals captain decided to leave. There are rumours of a potential conflict between the captain and the RR management as a result of these actions. Samson, meanwhile, scored 31 off 19, including two boundaries and three sixes, before being injured and retiring during the game.
It was believed that Nitish Rana would be one of the batting options for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Delhi Capitals in the opening Super Over of the 2025 Indian Premier League on Wednesday night at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. To everyone's amazement, however, RR chose Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, and then Yashasvi Jaiswal in the one-over decider, so even though Rana made a brilliant 51 off 28 balls, he was not brought in. RR made just 11 runs off five balls, including run-outs on the final two balls, so the move didn't work out.
