After suffering an injury while playing cricket in his hometown of Bengaluru before the 18th Indian Premier League (IPL), Rahul Dravid joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) preseason camp in Jaipur on crutches and wearing a protective boot. This occurred one week after he was injured in a Bengaluru club match on his left leg.
In a social media post on Wednesday, the IPL team said, "Head Coach Rahul Dravid, who picked up an injury while playing Cricket in Bangalore, is recovering well and will join us today in Jaipur." The image showed Dravid with a cast on his left leg. Dravid, who was named the Royals' head coach last year, will join the team in Jaipur, the team's official social media account announced on Wednesday, March 12. RR claimed that the former India head coach had fully recovered from his foot injury in a social media post, which included a photo of him.

Dravid participated fully in the session despite his lack of fitness. Before speaking with gifted young athletes Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal, he shook hands with the players. The latter, who Dravid coached to make his debut for his country, was spotted practising shadow strokes and asking the legendary batter for advice. Dravid sat on crutches and watched the entire Wednesday session intently. The Rajasthan Royals shared a video of Rahul Dravid showing up for training in a different post. His dedication was praised by social media users.
From 2011 to 2015, the former captain of the Royals played for the team for five seasons. In 2014, he started his coaching career with the Royals, first serving as captain and then as a mentor. He has now coached the India A and India U-19 sides and taken over as head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He assumed over as India's head coach in 2021. The Men in Blue advanced to the finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 2023 ODI World Cup, and the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) under his tutelage. The Asian powerhouses ended an 11-year ICC title drought by winning the latter.
