A post-match video of spinner Kuldeep Yadav slapping Rinku Singh has gone viral following the Delhi Capitals (DC) vs. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL 2025 match. Rinku was a little taken aback by his Indian teammate's act, but the second slap was unexpected, even though the first one seemed to be in jest.

With a new video posted on their official social media accounts on Wednesday, the Kolkata Knight Riders explained what happened between Rinku Singh and Kuldeep Yadav. After a viral video surfaced showing Delhi Capitals spinner Kuldeep Yadav slapping KKR batter Rinku Singh twice following the DC vs. KKR game at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi, KKR employed a clever caption to dispel all the rumours that suggested a breach between the two players.

Kuldeep Yadav and Rinku Singh's Friendly Banter:

The incident happened during a friendly discussion between players from both teams after the game. The two were seen laughing with others in the video before Kuldeep abruptly hit Rinku. The initial slap appeared to be a part of the banter and caused laughter. But a few seconds later, the spinner gave the left-handed batter another smack, a little harder this time, which made Rinku take the situation seriously and speak with the spinner. Despite this, the video lacked audio to provide context.

On the pitch, both players had different days. The KKR batsman was instrumental in the 14-run triumph, helping his team reach 204/9 with a crucial 36 off 25 balls. To give the side the necessary boost, he and Angkrish Raghuvanshi stitched a crucial 61-run stand. In an over, he also hit Kuldeep for 17 runs. With the following caption, KKR shared a new video of Kuldeep and Rinku: "Media (𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘪) vs (𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘯 𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘬𝘢) Reality! Featuring our talented UP boys, 𝘎𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘪 𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪."

However, with statistics of 0/27 in three overs, the wrist-spinner had a bad performance. As KKR's batsmen outscored DC's spinners, especially in the PowerPlay and middle overs, he found it difficult to make an impression with the ball. Up until Faf du Plessis (62) and Axar Patel (43) were at the crease, DC's pursuit was going strong. But because of Sunil Narine's all-around skill, the home team ultimately lost by 190/9. The defending champions, who now lie in seventh place with four victories and nine points, needed this victory badly to maintain their hopes of making the playoffs. The defeat has undermined DC's confidence in their ability to finish in the top two.
