Mayank Yadav is probably going to be unavailable to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). Mayank is still recovering from a spinal stress injury, according to reports on ESPNcricinfo. Mayank has just recently returned to bowling after suffering a back ailment during his recovery at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru after making his debut for India in the T20I series against Bangladesh last year.

When the fast bowler returns to the IPL is not set in stone. According to sources, he might be allowed to play for the Super Giants in the second half of the IPL if he satisfies the fitness requirements. Over the past 12 months, Mayank Yadav has experienced a good amount of injury-related difficulties. The speedster stole the show last season after bowling consistently at a pace of about 155.

x's Injury Woes:

Mayank made his debut last year against the Punjab Kings and took three wickets after missing the 2023 season due to injury. However, a side injury in the very next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) shortened his campaign to just four games. LSG believed in him and signed him for INR 11 crore prior to the November mega-auction, even though he was unavailable for the majority of the previous season.

Zaheer Khan, who was named LSG's Director of Cricket, claimed that the team has been putting in a lot of effort to figure out when Mayank could return once he is fully fit. He said, "As much as we are keen on having him [play IPL 2025], we want him 150% fit not just 100% fit so we'll do everything possible to get him there."

The Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam will host the Super Giants' season opener against the Delhi Capitals on Monday, March 24.
