Why are Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal Out of Playing Squad in IPL 2025 PBKS vs DC Match 66?

Axar Patel is not included in the squad for the May 24 match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. PBKS, who have already earned a spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs, will be hoping to win to climb to the top of the standings. However, DC will try to win their last league game to end their campaign on a good note as they are eliminated from the competition.

After winning the toss, DC captain Faf du Plessis decided to bowl first. He said that because they want to place fifth in the IPL 2025 points standings, the team has added a batsman to bolster their batting. As the battle for the top two intensifies, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer emphasised the significance of grasping every opportunity and admitted that his team's task is not yet finished.

Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal Sidelined:

Due to Axar Patel's ongoing illness, Faf du Plessis once again filled in as the Delhi Capitals' captain. Sediqullah Atal and Karun Nair have been added by DC, however, Abishek Porel has been left out. Yuzvendra Chahal, Mitchell Owen, and Xavier Bartlett will not play for PBKS versus DC, while Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis have returned to the starting lineup.
