For the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), the Delhi Capitals (DC) would have been relieved to have Mustafizur Rahman, a left-arm seamer from Bangladesh, replace Jake Fraser-McGurk. Many international cricket players are doubtful about the league's second phase, and the Australian batsman is one of the first to abandon his plans to go back to India. For INR 6 crore, the left-arm medium pacer has now joined the Delhi team.
ESPNCricinfo says that neither Mustafizur nor the Capitals have yet to receive a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the Indian Premier League's 2025 season. The aforementioned publication quoted BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, who said that there was no formal communication regarding the pacer's participation in the IPL and stated that he was expected to be with the squad in the UAE on time.
Mustafizur Rahman IPL Selection in Doubt?
Chowdhury said, "Mustafizur is supposed to go with the team to the UAE according to the schedule. We have not received any communication from IPL officials. I have also not received any such official communication from Mustafizur either."
The IPL has announced that Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has replaced Fraser-McGurk at DC for INR 6 crore.

With 57 IPL games played thus far, Mustafizur Rahman has taken 61 wickets. He has taken 132 wickets in his 106 T20I appearances for Bangladesh. It is noteworthy that the 29-year-old has already played for the team, having done so in the 2022 and 2023 iterations of the lucrative competition. The Satkhira-born player has played for successful teams like the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals in addition to DC.
Mustafizur was scheduled to play in consecutive Twenty20 International series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, both of which are IPL rivals. Following the two Twenty20 Internationals against the United Arab Emirates on May 17 and 19, there will be five Twenty20 Internationals in Pakistan on May 25, 27, 30, and June 1 and 3. The second half of the IPL, which begins on May 17 and ends on June 3, conflicts with both series. Following Fraser-McGurk's announcement to the team that he would not be returning for the remaining IPL 2025 matches, DC replaced him with Mustafizur.
