Liam Livingstone, an all-rounder for England, will be rested by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for today's Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS). During the coin toss, RCB captain Rajat Patidar verified the news. Romario Shepherd has been selected by RCB to replace him.
Rain forced the match between these two sides to be shortened to 14 overs each side on Friday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With five wickets and eleven balls remaining, Punjab defeated the opposition and reached the 96-run mark. Out of seven games, PBKS has five victories and two losses. Out of the seven games they have played so far, RCB has won four and lost three.
Romario Shepherd Replaces Liam Livingstone:
Regarding Livingstone's stats, he has participated in every match that RCB has played up to this point. With only two wickets and 87 runs at an average of 17.40, including a fifty, his performance hasn't had much of an influence. This also contributed to his dismissal against PBKS today since RCB wanted to give Shepherd a go in the position.
Romario Shepherd, a Caribbean all-rounder, will make his RCB debut after taking Liam Livingstone's place, who has been out of form. Prior to this match, the England cricketer had only amassed 87 runs from six innings in the 2025 IPL, averaging 17.40 and hitting at 127.95. Shepherd can hit a long ball at the end of an innings and will provide the team extra seam-bowling depth. PBKS, meanwhile, did not alter anything on their end.
