Nitish Rana will not be present at today's match between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. With four wins, KKR is currently ranked seventh on the points table, while RR is currently ranked eighth after being eliminated from the tournament.
Following the loss of the toss, Riyan Parag disclosed that Nitish Rana was unable to play in the 53rd IPL 2025 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders because to a niggle. Regarding Rana's injury, Parag hasn't disclosed many specifics. "Nitish Rana has a niggle; he goes out," said the RR captain.
Nitish Rana Ruled Out of KKR vs RR Match 53:
A niggle has forced left-handed batsman Nitish Rana out of the game, and wicketkeeper-batter Kunal Singh Rathore will take his place in the starting lineup. Yudhvir Singh Charak and Wanindu Hasaranga are also included in the starting lineup. Moeen Ali and Ramandeep Singh entered the starting lineup for KKR.
To ruin KKR's celebration at Eden Gardens, the Royals have also called up Yudhvir Singh to replace Fazalhaq Farooqi in the starting lineup. With nine points, KKR still has a chance to finish in the top four, but the Rajasthan Royals have already been eliminated from the IPL 2025 playoffs.
At the toss, Riyan Parag said, “I was happy that I lost the toss; I wasn't sure. It's very challenging; you have to be professional on the field. A lot of work goes into it. Need to play for our pride. Need to bring more energy into the field. We are hoping to put in a collective effort.”
