NZ vs IND: 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the T20I series

NZ vs IND: 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the T20I series

India will play five T20Is in New Zealand, along with five ODIs and two Tests in October-November this year. The five T20Is will be played on October 22, 24, 27, and 30 and November 1 in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland, and Hamilton, respectively.

The BCCI selectors announced the squad for the upcoming New Zealand T20I series, with pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar earning a much-deserved recall to the Men in Blue side. There were not many surprises in the Indian squad, and today we see the 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the T20Is.

Here are the 3 Indian bowlers to watch out for in the NZ vs. IND T20I series:

3. Arshdeep Singh

With Jasprit Bumrah not included in the Indian T20I squad, Arshdeep Singh will be the leading pacer for the Men in Blue. He has 141 wickets in 95 T20Is at an economy of 8.51, with the best bowling figures of 5/51. Arshdeep Singh will love to bowl in conditions where the ball swings and seams, and he will definitely trouble the New Zealand batters regardless of whether they bat first or second. Arshdeep will be tasked with giving India early wickets and bowling well with the new ball and in the death.

2. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is likely to remain the lead spinner for India in the New Zealand T20I series despite the presence of Varun Chakaravarthy. He has played only one T20I in New Zealand and has taken 2 wickets. New Zealand batters are not used to playing quality spinners, and Kuldeep Yadav is one of the best in the business. Regardless of the pitches in New Zealand, Kuldeep Yadav will have a big role to play with the ball in the T20Is.

1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has finally earned a well-deserved recall to the Indian team for the five-T20I series. He was rewarded for his excellent bowling in the last two IPL seasons, where he picked 45 wickets, playing a huge role in RCB’s two wins. He also bowled well in the UPT20 League, and with the new chief selector coming in, India has opted to bring back the experienced pacer. Bhuvneshwar will have the apt conditions to bowl with swing in the air and seam pitches, and with Jasprit Bumrah absent, expect Bhuvneshwar to provide experience to the Indian bowling unit.
