NZ vs IND: 3 New Zealand bowlers India’s batters must watch out for

India will be travelling to New Zealand for an all-format series. India will first play five T20Is, then five ODIs, and then the important two-Test series. There is a lot of excitement for the three-format tour, as India last travelled for Tests in 2020 just before the pandemic and for white-ball cricket in 2022.

The battle in the tour will be between the Indian batters and New Zealand bowlers. Bowlers are likely to have the upper hand, given that they will be bowling in their home conditions. Hence, today, we will see the three Kiwi bowlers that Indian batters must be wary of.

Here are the 3 New Zealand bowlers India’s batters must watch out for.

3. Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner is likely to be the only spinner who plays in the New Zealand side in Tests and will captain them in ODIs and T20Is. Santner has 80 Test wickets and made life difficult for Indian batters in India. He scored 139 ODI wickets in 129 games and 142 wickets in 138 T20Is. He is also handy with the bat, with more than 1000 runs in all three formats. Santner’s ability to bowl well within his limits and still be effective helps create pressure for the main bowlers.

2. Jacob Duffy

Jacob Duffy might be new to New Zealand but has made a lasting impression with his brilliant bowling. He has 62 wickets in 48 T20Is and 40 wickets in 24 ODIs but has 25 wickets in just 4 Tests. Duffy impressed when he visited India recently and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well, especially on the flat deck in Bengaluru. He will be a very good support bowler for the main pacers to keep the pressure on.

1. Matt Henry

Matt Henry will lead the New Zealand pace attack across formats. He is their most experienced pacer with 152 Test wickets in 35 matches, 172 wickets in 95 ODIs, and 53 wickets in 43 T20Is for New Zealand. Henry did well when New Zealand whitewashed India in India, and he is lethal in home conditions. He swings and seams the ball in home conditions in New Zealand and is guaranteed to make Indian batters’ lives hell.
