During a heated exchange mid-match, Colin Munro of Islamabad United accused Iftikhar Ahmed of hurling the ball during the recently finished Match No. 13 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025). When Iftikhar bowled a fast yorker that Munro was able to dig out on the third ball of the tenth over, the incident occurred. The New Zealand hitter, however, indicated that the bowler's delivery was questionable with an impassioned gesture rather than carrying on with the play. Munro seemed to charge the spinner with going beyond the 15-degree elbow extension restriction, which is against cricket regulations.
On the broadcast, it was evident that he was imitating a bent-arm bowling motion. Iftikhar was not amenable to the accusation. He approached the umpire directly, asking for clarification and seemingly objecting to Munro's gestures. The umpires intervened quickly in an attempt to defuse the situation before it got out of hand. But the conflict didn't end there. Some Multan Sultans players, who were offended by Munro's body language, united behind Iftikhar.

Munro confronted the bowler immediately instead of bringing the issue up with the umpires. The fielding captain, Muhammad Rizwan, and the umpires intervened as the altercation swiftly turned into a verbal altercation. The Multan skipper attempted to defuse the issue and advised the Kiwi batter to focus on batting. The accusation clearly upset Iftikhar, who approached the umpires to request an urgent explanation. The authorities, however, chose to continue the game without making any on-field decisions.
Munro was batting at 40 off 23 balls at the time of the altercation, spearheading a potent chase that saw Islamabad win by seven wickets. Shortly after, he was caught by none other than Iftikhar Ahmed and disqualified for 45 off 28. With statistics of 0 for 20 from his two overs, the off-spinner concluded the evening.
