The team lost both the three-match ODI series 0-3, as well as the five-match T20I series 1-4. The T20I team did not include Muhammad Rizwan or Babar Azam. But for the ODI series, the seasoned pair came back.

Following the third ODI, the captain made this statement at the post-match celebration: "It's a disappointing series. The positives for us is the good touch of Babar Azam and Naseem Shah's batting. Sufiyan bowled really well. I will give credit to New Zealand; they played really in all departments of the game. We need to play better against a new ball. We will go back and discuss whatever we have learned from here. We are going to enjoy PSL; it's a big tournament for us. We couldn't do well in the Champions trophy (and the series here); hopefully, we will do well in PSL."
