In a thrilling game in Port of Spain, Trinbago Knight Riders defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by five wickets thanks to back-to-back sixes off the bat of Tim David at the beginning of the last over. This mid-table matchup lived up to its reputation as one of the most memorable of the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024), with both teams having spells of domination.

In what may be Dwayne Bravo's final game at the legendary Queens Park Oval after he announced his CPL retirement earlier in the season, Kieron Pollard accurately called the coin toss and chose to field first. His team showed Bravo a heartfelt guard of respect. Despite the Warriors being down to 76/7, Romario Shepherd's important half-century from the lower order helped his team rally to a competitive score of 148/7. However, not even an inch was granted with the ball during this time.

TKR impresses in CPL 2024 Match 19:

The pursuit was a sly and erratic affair. The match was very much in the balance with the Knight Riders at 89/5 and failing to reach the boundary in the middle overs. In the 17th over, the Knight Riders made a key breakthrough when Player of the Match Andre Russell hit three sixes off Nathan Sowter's bowling to bring down the target and set David up for the last over.

Following the game, an emotional Russell also gave Dwayne Bravo his due, "I knew I could hit sixes, and Tim David can also hit sixes, was the mentality. I informed him that we needed to hit eight sixes out of the 24 balls we had. He played a big part in who I am now. Simply put, I'm glad to be playing this game. It was an emotional celebration because he deserved to win. He's probably going to cry tonight. DJ Bravo deserves this one."
