Pacer Alzarri Joseph of the Saint Lucia Kings lost his composure on Saturday during a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) game against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. The event occurred on the ninth over's penultimate ball as Guyana was cruising to an easy victory. Shimron Hetmyer received a bowl from Joseph, and the latter slammed the ball back at him straight.
But even though Hetmyer was wedged deep into the crease, Joseph's wrath finally got the better of him as he hurled the ball towards the stumps. Joseph followed suit and then gave Hetmyer a lingering look, to which he replied elegantly on the next ball. Guyana needed just nine runs to win when Hetmyer struck him for an incredible six over midwicket on the following ball. The Joseph and Hetmyer event has gone viral.

Returning to the match, Guyana Amazon Warriors chose to bowl first at Gros Islet, bowling out Saint Lucia Kings for a meagre total of just 100. Guyana reached their target in ten overs and with six wickets remaining in response.
The captain of St Lucia Kings, Faf du Plessis, voiced his displeasure at the outcome. After the game, he made the following statement: "Very disappointing. It was incorrect of us to bat first on a sticky pitch there; instead, we should have assessed the situation and played appropriately. They did well to limit us when you often lose wickets like that. You can do better in some areas, but in my opinion, evaluating conditions is the most important thing."
He further added, "You may definitely take your time and take the shine off on a new wicket, but in St Kitts, you don't mind men having a crack. You constantly strive to be upbeat, but tonight we are learning that tonight. (On the next Trinbago Knight Riders game) Two consecutive hard games. We'll review and determine where our tactical game needs improvement. We weren't at our best tonight. The majority of our wickets came from hitters giving up the ball, which is something we need to improve."
