A humiliating incident occurred prior to the first ball being delivered in the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match at the Dubai International Stadium. The DJ unintentionally played the well-known Tesher-Jason Derulo song "Jalebi Baby" in place of Pakistan's national anthem as the teams formed up for theirs. The incident swiftly gained widespread attention on social media.
After the Jason Derulo x Tesher song was played on the loudspeaker, the error left the Pakistani players frustrated despite their best efforts. However, the error was promptly corrected, and Pak Sarzamin Shad Bad of Pakistan was used in its place. This is not the first time that Pakistan has made a mistake with their national anthem. The Indian national anthem was inadvertently sung in Lahore during the Champions Trophy, leaving the nation's cricket body humiliated. On February 22, during Australia vs. England, the DJ unintentionally played Jana Gana Mana rather than the Australian national anthem.

Before the organisers realised their mistake and halted the Indian national anthem, the Australian players and the spectators at the Gaddafi Stadium were caught off guard. When Advance Australia Fair was finally held in Lahore, everything returned to normal. Given that India had declined to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, the episode was humiliating for Pakistan. India won the ICC title, which was hosted by Pakistan, and played all of their matches in the tournament in Dubai.
Notably, there was more controversy around the post-match scenes. During the toss and following the match, the Indian players declined to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts. Pakistan protested, saying the action was against cricket's spirit and unsporting. Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, boycotted the post-match presentation ceremony as payback. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav then justified the choice.
