For the tenth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Shaun Tait has been named the Karachi Kings' fast bowling coach. Salman Iqbal, the owner of the Kings, made the statement prior to the tournament's commencement. The PSL match between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars is scheduled to start on Friday, April 11.

In addition, the team appointed former England all-rounder Ravi Bopara as head coach, succeeding Phil Simmons, and appointed David Warner, who is making his PSL debut, as captain. The actions demonstrate the Kings' desire to turn things around following disappointing seasons, relying on Tait's skill to bolster their pace attack and Warner's assertive leadership.

Shaun Tait Joins Karachi Kings:

Tait's appointment was announced by the franchise on social media. Shaun Tait, known for his thunderbolts that can reach speeds of 160 kmph, will coach a pace unit that includes both well-known and up-and-coming players. Bopara, who replaced Simmons after just one season, is in charge of the technical revamp with Muhammad Masroor and is currently handling more responsibilities as the High-Performance Coach. The three immediately concentrated on improving the Kings' bowling tactics, especially their execution of death overs, which has been a problem for them in recent games.

The deadly bowler also participated in the PSL in 2016 while playing for Peshawar Zalmi. Bringing his expertise to the competition, Tait is eager to increase the team's fast bowling capabilities. He began teaching players for various teams after retiring from international cricket to pursue full-time coaching positions.

Salman Iqbal, owner of the Karachi Kings, said, "We are delighted to welcome Shaun Tait to the Karachi Kings family. His experience as a world-class fast bowler and as a coach make him the perfect fit for our team. Shaun’s aggressive bowling philosophy aligns with our vision, and we believe he will play a crucial role in strengthening our pace attack. We look forward to an exciting season under his guidance."

In the previous PSL season, Tait served as the bowling coach for the Quetta Gladiators. Additionally, he served as the bowling coach for Pakistan in 2022–2023 and for Afghanistan in 2021. In the forthcoming event, the bowler will be excited to play for a new team. He will join his countryman David Warner, who will be the team's captain in PSL 10.
