For the third season of Major League Cricket (MLC), which starts on June 12, 2025, former Australian opener David Warner has joined the Seattle Orcas. The Australian is playing in the USA-based T20 league for the first time. Warner will make his debut in the MLC, a competition that has been gaining traction since its inception in 2023.
Currently, the explosive left-handed batsman is captaining the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In the PSL 2025, his batting is lacking, but his leadership is strong, as the Karachi Kings have won two of their first three games this season. He has participated in several T20 leagues worldwide and is renowned for his aggressive style at the top of the order. During his 401 T20 appearances, he has scored 12,956 runs with a strike rate of 140.27.

Unexpectedly, Warner did not sell in the IPL 2025 auction, despite being one of the most successful players in the league and ranked fourth on the all-time run-getters list with 6,565 runs. However, the southpaw's form was unaffected by that setback. With 405 runs in 12 innings, he helped lead the Sydney Thunder to the Big Bash League final earlier this year. He is presently captaining Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League. He also played for the Dubai Capitals, who won the ILT20 in February.
The Seattle Orcas' performance in the MLC has been inconsistent. They finished first in the 2023 season, but MI New York won the championship game. But under Heinrich Klaasen's leadership, they performed worse in the 2024 edition, finishing last in the standings with just one victory in seven games. The dates of MLC 2025 are June 12–July 13. In addition, Warner is anticipated to compete for the London Spirit in this year's The Hundred.
