Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan Buys New Delhi Franchise for Upcoming ISPL Season

Last season saw the debut of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), which helped street cricket players across get some prominence. A new ISPL franchise for season three was announced to be owned by Salman Khan.

The inaugural T10 cricket league in India, featuring a tennis-ball format, has unveiled a new team. According to an ISPL press release, Suraj Samat, League Commissioner and Core Committee Member for New Delhi, stated that an additional Ahmedabad team would be unveiled soon. Salman Khan, the Bollywood actor, has been announced as the new team owner for the prospective franchise in New Delhi.

Salman Khan, with the launch of a New Delhi franchise, ushered in a new era in the league's quick development and expanding cultural influence. A strong core group, which includes Suraj Samat, Ashish Shelar, a member of the Asian Cricket Council and a Cabinet Minister, Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, and Minal Amol Kale, supports the ISPL.

Ashish Shelar, a member of the ISPL core committee, expressed his happiness at having Salman Khan in the mix for the upcoming season and was amazed by the tournament's enormous popularity, citing the startling numbers across broadcast and digital media. Additionally, he expressed satisfaction with the level of fan support the event has received over the past two seasons and expressed optimism for a larger and stronger turnout for the future season.

NDTV quotes Shelar saying, “We've witnessed two phenomenal seasons, with record-breaking numbers across broadcast and digital platforms. It is truly encouraging to see growing support for our vision. The addition of superstar Salman Khan to the mix is the icing on the cake, as we gear up for an even bigger and better Season 3."

Along with other B-town celebrities who own a franchise in the tournament, such as Amitabh Bachchan (owner of Majhi Mumbai), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (owners of Tigers of Kolkata), Akshay Kumar (owners of Srinagar Ke Veer), Suriya (owner of Chennai Singams), Hrithik Roshan (owner of Bangalore Strikers), and Ram Charan (owner of Falcon Risers Hyderabad), the Dabangg star has also expressed his excitement about participating. Regarding the tournament and its grassroots promotion of the game, Salman had many great things to say.
