The first match of the three-match Test series between Australia and the West Indies is scheduled for June 25 at Barbados' Bridgetown. For both sides, this will be the opening series in the 2025–2027 World Test Championship cycle. The Caribbean has not won a Test series since 2023 against Zimbabwe and has been struggling in red-ball cricket. For a team still getting used to playing red-ball cricket, this will be yet another challenging task.
In international cricket, the Australian team is presently recognised as the top Test team. The Pat Cummins-led team has won the previous three Test series they have played, after suffering a devastating defeat to South Africa in the WTC final. They intend to begin the most recent WTC cycle anew and demonstrate their superiority in the format going into the series.

Kensington Oval Pitch Report:
In Bridgetown, Barbados, the surface has primarily been a pitch that has provided the hitters with a lot of support. The conditions appear to improve as the game goes on, even if the pacers receive a lot of help with the new ball. The most recent Test match to be played here was a high-scoring match between England and the West Indies that finished in a draw. At this location, choosing to field first can be advantageous.
