Unfortunately, Akash Deep will not be able to play in the fourth Test match against England, causing India to suffer yet another defeat. The pacer has been ruled out of the fourth game of the series due to a groin ache. On the eve of the match, Indian captain Shubman Gill confirmed that the pacer would not be playing in the visitors' must-win match at Old Trafford, which is scheduled to begin on July 23.
Arshdeep Singh will miss the fourth Test, and Nitish Kumar Reddy has already been ruled out of the series. Akash has picked up a groin strain that will now keep him out of the Old Trafford clash. With a match total of 10 wickets and a 336-run victory for the visitors, he had been instrumental in India's victory at Edgbaston.

Given that India is already without players like Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh, the likelihood of Anshul Kamboj making his international debut on Wednesday has increased. Nonetheless, the Indian administration would also consider Prasidh Krishna as a potential candidate. Putting together the perfect squad in light of Nitish Kumar Reddy's injury also leaves room for Shardul Thakur, who is probably going to be included.
Rishabh Pant will be taking wickets in the fourth Test, the India captain confirmed. During the first innings of the Lord's Test, Pant was struck on the finger as he attempted to stop a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah. Pant batted in both innings, but Dhruv Jurel took his position behind the wickets.
During the press conference, Gill said, “Never easy when there's a bit of injuries going around in the squad. Nitish is gonna miss out on the series, and Akash [Deep] is also unavailable for this next match, and so is Arshdeep. However, I think we have enough good players in the team to first secure 20 wickets. That's been the most challenging part of the series. But I think, looking at the weather, it should be a good game."
