All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is expected to miss the rest of the England trip after hurting his knee during training, which is a major setback for the Indian team two days before the fourth Test at Old Trafford begins. Nitish was almost ruled out of the last two Test matches after scans revealed that he had injured his ligaments, according to ESPNCricinfo and the Times of India.
Reddy's injury, which occurred on Sunday during an indoor training session, has contributed to India's mounting injury worries. The 22-year-old hurt his left knee while working out at the gym, and further scans revealed ligament damage, according to an ESPNcricinfo report. Although the specifics of the injury are still unknown, the indications suggest that Reddy would miss not only the fourth Test (July 23–27) but also the last Test.

Although Nitish hasn't batted in this series yet, he took three vital wickets at Lord's and is a vital fourth seamer who keeps the team balanced. India will now need to decide whether to replace him with a specialist batter or an all-rounder like Shardul Thakur. Alternately, though it seems doubtful, they might make the bold decision to include Kuldeep Yadav in the starting lineup.
Anshul Kamboj had previously been called up by the visitors to cover for injuries in the pace department. This followed fitness worries for Arshdeep Singh (bowling hand injury) and Akash Deep (groin issue), both of whom are also questionable for the match at Old Trafford.
Reddy played in the second Test at Edgbaston and the subsequent match at Lord's after missing the first Test in Leeds. In the first innings of the third Test, he got rid of England's openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley in the same over, and he got Crawley again in the second. In an attempt to hold onto his spot for the fourth Test, he also made contributions with the bat, hitting 30 and 13.
