After a brilliant performance in the intense heat of London on the second day of the third Test match against England on Friday, Jasprit Bumrah easily defeated the great Kapil Dev to set a new mark for the most five-wicket hauls in away Test matches for India. In the 'Home of Cricket', Lord's, Bumrah returned with his mojo after missing the second match. His accurate lines and unsettling lengths left England's best batsmen speechless. In 35 games, Bumrah blazed his way to his first five-wicket haul at Lord's, bringing his total to 13 in away Test matches.

In the second Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham, Bumrah was rested after scoring five runs in the opening innings of the first Test match against England at Headingley, Leeds. On a pitch that hasn't been as flat as the previous two Test matches, but isn't exactly a fast bowler's paradise as many had anticipated in the lead-up to the match, he has still made an impression at the Home of Cricket by bowling brilliantly.

Jasprit Bumrah Scripts History:

Bumrah rose to the top after surpassing Kapil's record of 12 five-wicket hauls in 66 away Test matches for India. In 69 Test matches away from home, former spinner Anil Kumble dropped to third place with 10 five-fers. With top records of 6/27 and 15 five-wicket hauls, Bumrah has amassed 215 scalps at an impressive average of 19.49 in 47 Test matches. Bumrah reached the 450-wicket milestone in 206 appearances across all forms. With top records of 6/19 and 17 five-wicket hauls, he has taken 453 wickets at an average of 20.48.

Following a spectacular period with the second new ball by Bumrah, England fell from 260/4 to 271/7. But Carse and Jamie Smith put together a counterattacking 84-run partnership to put England back in the game. Smith was dismissed for 51 by Mohammed Siraj, who broke the important stand. Jofra Archer became Bumrah's fifth victim in the innings as he defeated him a few overs later.
