During the first session of Day 4 of the second Test in the current five-match series between England and India, Rishabh Pant was caught up in a humorous moment. Fielders, umpires, spectators, pundits, and even Pant saw the humorous side of things when he lost control of his bat while attempting a powerful swing across the line. The bat flew and landed close to the square-leg umpire. The incident happened on the fourth ball of bowler Josh Tongue's 34th over in India's second innings.

The fans and the Indian dressing room saw the humorous side of things, and the vice-captain had to go and get the bat. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, among others, were seen laughing at Pant's antics. Pant has also done similar in the past. This occurred in Dharamshala during an IPL match between LSG and PBKS this year. Pant lost his wicket in that instance, but he was saved this time.

Unbelievable Moment During ENG vs IND 2025:

India's total at the end of the 34th over, with captain Shubman Gill and Pant batting in the middle, was 165/3. Pant had scored 32 off 21 at that point, including two sixes and four fours. Lunch was taken with the visitors leading by 357 runs, four overs following the event. In order to allow the bowlers to bowl England out and tie the series, the pair would want to increase their lead and score as soon as possible.

Following the departure of Yashasvi Jaiswal (28 off 22) on Day 3, the first two wickets to fall in the opening session were Karun Nair (26 off 46) and KL Rahul (55 off 84). Pant would like to record a more significant score because he was only able to score 25 in the first innings.
