ENG vs IND 2025: Rishabh Pant's Powerful Six Breaks Kent County Stadium Roof During Practice

India Ahead of the crucial Test series against England, wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant destroyed the roof of the stadium with a huge six during a practice session. A five-match Test series between India and England is scheduled to start on June 20. Team India is starting a new era in Test cricket by preparing for the pivotal match ahead of the series.

The incident happened while India was training at the Kent ground. The squad is training there in addition to their previous sessions at the storied Lord's Cricket Ground. In the nets, facing off-spinner Washington Sundar, the southpaw hit a slog sweep that struck the stand's roof structure.

Pant, who will serve as Shubman Gill's deputy, has been named India's new vice captain. Given his prior performances in England, his form will be vital to the team's success in the forthcoming season. With two hundreds and as many fifties, the southpaw has amassed 556 runs at an average of 32.70 from 17 innings in England.

The 27-year-old has a strong track record in English cricket, amassing 556 runs, including two hundreds, in nine Test matches. He is a vital part of India's red-ball setup because of his offensive style of play. After mainstays Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired, the Indian squad is currently going through a transitional period.

The team led by Shubman Gill recently arrived in England and started practising at Lord's before moving some of their drills to the Kent venue, where they will play an intra-squad match against the India A squad on June 13.
