ICC Drops Men's December Player of the Month Nominees - See Full List!

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the shortlists for the ICC Men's and Women's Player of the Month awards for December 2024, which recognize outstanding individual achievements on the international arena throughout the calendar month.

The shortlist includes Australian skipper Pat Cummins, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, and South African seamer Dane Paterson. During this time, all three players have had outstanding performances in their respective series. Following an exciting month of action in the run-up to the ICC World Test Championship Final, the nominees for the ICC Men's Player of the Month include exceptional wicket-takers from India, Australia, and South Africa.

3. Dane Paterson(South Africa):

Dane Paterson, the third nominee, was essential in South Africa's successful bid to qualify for the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship 2025. His stint was essential in the 109-run triumph, and Paterson followed it up with another courageous performance, a probing five for 61 in the nail-biting victory over Pakistan, which secured South Africa's position at Lord's in their first ICC World Test Championship Final.

2. Pat Cummins(Australia):

Australia's captain led a historic comeback from a 1-0 series deficit with spirited performances in the December Tests, scoring 144 runs and taking 17 wickets at 17.64. He was vital in securing his team's spot in the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship final. Cummins collected 25 wickets in five Tests against India, averaging 21.36, and his finest bowling stats were a spectacular 5/57 in Adelaide.

1. Jasprit Bumrah(India):

The world's top-ranked Test bowler closed the year on a high note, taking 22 wickets in three Tests in December.  He led the overall wickets column, taking 32 wickets in five Tests at a staggering average of 13.06. These efforts gave him the most rating points of any Indian bowler in the ICC Test rankings.
