Following his performance in India's opening Test of the current series against England, Ravindra Jadeja fell down the ICC rankings of the top 10 bowlers in men's Test cricket. Several other team members, including Jadeja, did not play well at Headingley.
Regarding the performance of the spin-bowling all-rounder, he scored 11 runs off 15 and 25* runs off 40 in India's first and second innings, respectively. What was less impressive, though, was his performance with the ball. In both innings, he bowled 47 overs in total. He failed to make a single breakthrough, other than taking out Ben Stokes (33 off 51) in the second innings.
Ravindra Jadeja Drops to 13th:
Jadeja was in tenth place before the most recent update on Wednesday, but she has since fallen three spots to thirteenth. Despite this, Jadeja remains the top all-round player in Test cricket, but England captain Ben Stokes' performance in the opening Test moved him into the top 5. After capturing five wickets in the opening innings of the match, Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top of the bowlers' rankings. Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Noman Ali, and Kagiso Rabada complete the top five.
His ranking dropped to 13th as a result of this poor performance. Jadeja has a 706 rating as of Wednesday, June 25. In his Test career, this is a pivotal moment. He has been among the top 10 bowlers for most of it. From March to August of 2017, Jadeja was in the top spot. Jadeja's failure to worry the batters with the available rough patches on Day 5 was one of his bowling shortcomings in Leeds. Sanjay Manjrekar criticised Jadeja for not making good use of his experience and was critical of this aspect.

In the end, India lost by five wickets. A massive run-chase of 371 in 82 overs was accomplished by England. For his knocks of 62 (94) and 149 (170) in the first and second innings, respectively, Ben Duckett was named Player of the Match. Josh Tongue was the most impressive bowler in terms of performance, taking 4/86 in 20 overs and 3/72 in 18 overs. In just his fourth Test match, the 27-year-old right-armer recorded his greatest bowling numbers yet.
