Along with being a significant player in India's trophy-winning effort at the Men's Champions Trophy 2025, two highlights of New Zealand's hectic month are on the ICC Men's Player of the Month shortlist.
The sole Indian player nominated by the ICC for player of the month is veteran hitter Shreyas Iyer. He received his first nomination for Player of the Month after a run of strong performances, including four-wicket hauls in Christchurch (four for 14) and Mount Maunganui (four for 20).

India was able to successfully chase down difficult totals under the lights in Dubai and won their third Champions Trophy thanks to crucial scores of 45 and 48 in the semi-final and final, which came before a match-winning 79 in the last group stage encounter against New Zealand.
