Irani Cup 2025 Day 5 Review:

Atharva Taide made a brilliant catch at the deep third man boundary when Dhull attempted to slash him, denying the rest of India a slim victory. Following Thakur's impolite farewell to Dhull, there was an ugly episode in which the two almost got into a fight. Both players are anticipated to receive sanctions from the match referee after the umpires and Vidarbha fielders stepped in to defuse the situation.

Suthar remained undefeated at 56 from 113 balls despite the rapid dismissals of Anshul Kamboj, Akash Deep, and Gurnoor Brar. In 73.5 overs, the remainder of India's innings was dismissed for 267. It was admirable to watch the Patidar-led team persevere in the face of overwhelming odds. But they were always behind the eight-ball after falling too far behind in the first innings.

The best bowler for Vidarbha was Harsh Dubey. In 27.5 overs, he conceded just 73 runs while taking four wickets. Yash Thakur and Thakare each contributed two wickets. Nalkande and Parth Rekhade, meanwhile, each claimed one wicket. After hitting 15 fours and one six to score 143 off 183 balls, Atharva Taide was named Player of the Match. The basis for Vidarbha's victory was established by his knock.
