One of the Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) most promising players, Samit Dravid, has not been sold at the auctions for the 2025 Maharaja Trophy T20 Tournament, which is held annually. Samit, a young batter and the son of former India batsman Rahul Dravid, played in the league the previous season with the Mysuru Warriors, who were led by skipper Karun Nair and won the championship.
The 19-year-old batter only managed to score 82 runs at an average of 11.71 and a strike rate of 113.89 in seven games. His best score against the Gulbarga Mystics was 33 from 24 balls. Regretfully, that was the only occasion during the competition that he reached 30 runs. Furthermore, even though he was a pace bowling all-rounder, he was not given an opportunity to contribute with the ball. The match was a last-ball drama, and Mystics prevailed despite his best efforts. Samit was not involved at the business end after a few poor batting performances, and this was his only score of thirty or more for the season.

He scored 82 runs in 7 outings last season. May come back in the accelerated auction later today.
He was consequently excluded from the starting lineup in the latter stages of the season, which probably affected his outcome at the 2025 auction. It's interesting to note that Samit Dravid had attracted notice earlier in 2024 for all the right reasons. As a representative of Karnataka in the Cooch Behar Trophy, he was instrumental in the team's historic victory. He demonstrated excellent technique and temperament while scoring 362 runs in eight games, including a smooth 98 against Jammu & Kashmir. Samit made an impression with the ball as well as the bat, taking 16 wickets, including two in the final match against Mumbai.
More about the Mysuru Warriors' successful 2024 campaign: in the grand finals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, they faced the Bengaluru Blasters, captained by Mayank Agarwal, and won the match handily by a margin of 45 runs. Due to his outstanding season-long total of 560 runs, captain Karun Nair was named the Player of the Tournament.
