For the forthcoming 2025–26 SA20 season, Lance Klusener will return as head coach of the Durban Super Giants, marking his fourth year in that role. One of South Africa's most renowned all-round players and a well-respected figure in international cricket, Klusener has played a significant role in forming the identity of the Durban Super Giants since arriving in the first season. The squad advanced to the finals in Season 2 under his leadership, and despite a difficult Season 3 campaign, the franchise is still dedicated to its long-term goal of creating a championship team.

Klusener expressed how excited he was to stay with the Super Giants. He said, "It’s a privilege to continue this journey with the Durban Super Giants and the RPSG Group. The support and belief shown in me are deeply appreciated. I look forward to building something even more special this season. We’ve laid the foundation over the past three years. Now, it's time to build a team that can consistently challenge for the title and make Durban proud. Durban is my home. Coaching this franchise is more than a job—it’s a mission to build something enduring with our fans and players."

Regarding the September 9 player auction, Klusener added,“We’ve done a deep review of our past season and have identified key areas for improvement. This auction gives us a crucial opportunity to strengthen our squad and return to our best. Working with Dr. Sanjiv Goenka and the RPSG Group has been one of the most professionally rewarding relationships in my coaching career. Their clarity of vision and commitment to the players and fans make this franchise truly world-class.”

Later, on December 28, the Super Giants will play their maiden home game against MI Cape Town at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban. Up to six teams will compete in a total of 34 Twenty20 matches in the fourth SA20 tournament, which will follow the same structure as the previous editions. In a double round-robin style, each team will play the other five teams twice. Following all league games, the top four teams in the standings will advance to the SA20 2025–2026 Playoffs.
