Australia and South Africa have not given one another an inch in this week's thrilling World Test Championship (WTC 2025) final at the storied Lord's Cricket Ground. The conditions have made batting difficult, but both teams have bowled incredibly well. David Bedingham of South Africa stated after Day 2 of the ongoing WTC 2025 Final that he has great faith in his team's capacity to meet the goal Australia will set in the fourth innings. The hitters have found the pitch to be a little difficult, and the South African team will likely struggle to chase runs. But Bedingham's remarks held up well before the third day of the Lord's final.

On the second day of the WTC Final, Bedingham stated this during the post-match interview, “We're very confident. I think the batters will have their plans. But yeah, I think it's an amazing day. And I think when they started batting in their third innings, I think we would have definitely had them or taken them 220-8. So, I think you're very confident, and I think there's a massive belief in this team."

David Bedingham shares his verdict:

Additionally, since 2005, Lord's has only seen four successful chases of targets weighing more than 200. South African batsman David Bedingham feels optimistic about his team's chances of winning the major match despite the odds. According to him, there is enough faith in the Proteas squad to write history, even though the game might go any way.

He added, “I think it's just an amazing chance, and I think we're all very, very excited about the opportunity to win. Like I said, it could go either way, but I think we as a team are very, very excited and there's a lot of belief in the dressing room.”

Speaking of the current WTC 2025 final, David Bedingham led South Africa in scoring in the first innings with a 45-run knock off 111 balls, displaying admirable tenacity and resolve. In an attempt to increase their lead and make things more difficult for the Proteas, Australia resumed their second innings on Day 3. But with the final two players, Starc and Hazlewood, still at the crease, Kagiso Rabada got ahead early by trapping Nathan Lyon in front of the wicket.
